The GeoBuilding Strategic Project Has Started – Geothermal Energy in the Border Region
In September 2025, the GeoBuilding strategic project has been launched under the leadership of the University of Pécs, aiming to support the energy refurbishment of public buildings and the sustainable utilization of shallow geothermal energy in the Hungarian–Croatian border region. The programme will prepare refurbishment documentation for 20 buildings, while three demonstration investments will showcase environmentally friendly heating and cooling systems in practice.
The IMRO-DDKK Nonprofit Ltd. is also participating as a project partner.
GeoBuilding is implemented within the framework of the Interreg VI-A Hungary–Croatia Cooperation Programme 2021–2027, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
