First ‘Climate-breakfast’ in Nagykanizsa
A call for ideas to create the most climate-friendly breakfast menus has been published by IMRO-DDKK Nonprofit Ltd. in cooperation with the Environmental Association Károly Kaán and the Municipality of Nagykanizsa. Primary school children willing to participate were requested to prepare two types of breakfast menus: a climate-friendly and a less climate-friendly menu. The two winning proposals were presented by a group created by primary school children from the Primary School Zrínyi Miklós, the so-called ‘Breakfast schoolmates’ and another group of children in representation of the Primary School Bolyai János. Their ideas were also awarded and the winners had the opportunity to have breakfast with the mayor of Nagykanizsa, Sándor Dénes, in the frame of the First Climate-breakfast of Nagykanizsa. Our idea is to organise periodically this kind of events in order to create general awareness among citizens about the climate change while motivating them to changing their consumption habits.
