Energy Communities in Danube Region Countries: NRGCOM Project Meeting and Study Tour in Velenje (Slovenia)

As we shared earlier on our website , our company is participating in the NRGCOM project funded by the European Union’s Danube Interreg program. The project aims to promote the establishment of renewable energy communities. Among other things, our company’s experts are helping to establish three energy communities (Nemesvámos, Kunsziget and Csepeli Free Port). In addition, we have created an expert community , where we support the work of energy community professionals by sharing experience, mentoring and educational programs.

The consortium of experts, consisting of 13 project partners and 14 strategic partners from 12 countries, met in Velenje, Slovenia, on 24-25 September 2025 to discuss the progress of the project and the remaining tasks. The meeting was followed by a study tour, where we visited Slovenia’s first renewable energy community (in Luče) and a local guesthouse based on local products and an ecological approach in the Logar Valley.

Our company also held a dedicated workshop within the task we lead: establishing an expert community of energy communities in the Danube region. In this framework, we reviewed activities on the Danube region level as well as on country level: events, mentoring activities, education and much more. You can also access the Hungarian-language community in our Facebook group.
